City Council Approves Funding for Streetcars

By a 6-2 vote City Council approved $66,585,000 in funding for the Cincinnati Streetcar at their meeting today, a important step in making the project a reality and making Cincinnati a better place to live.

    Cincinnati is on its way to joining the world class group of cities that is serious about being at the forefront of urban planning, rather than bringing up the rear. I am proud of my city.

    This is fantastic news! I hope we’ll see construction start by late this year, after getting the federal funding lined up.

    GREAT! Too bad we can’t expect such good news out of Columbus. Too bad also that nothing of the sort is in the cards for Cleveland.
