Handicapped Accessibility on the Streetcar

Modern Streetcars are very accessible to those in wheelchairs, increasing the mobility and independence of disabled persons who live along the line.  The clip below illustrates the ease at which someone in a wheelchair can get on and off of the streetcar:

Because streetcars run right up to the curb and are always the same distance away, it is easy for those in wheelchairs to quickly and safely board.  And unlike a bus, no restraints have to be placed on the wheelchair while on the streetcar.  Support Increased Independence for the Disabled–Build the Streetcar.
